The last two weekends I’ve gone for walks in the woods near me. There are ponds there, and lots of water fowl – including Canada geese, which are practically pests in my part of the world. The first weekend, I came across this mating pair and their brood of four. So cute.
The next weekend, I saw the same six geese – plus a whole whack more. They were travelling as a pack (what’s a pack of geese called?), and the entourage included the four goslings I’d seen previously, plus about fifteen younger ones of various ages, and all of their parents.
The little ones’ tiny webbed feet made pitter-pat sounds as they scurried across the wet pavement of the parking lot near me.
